Perhaps your iPhone's having a tantrum? If so, there could be a good reason, for tomorrow is the day the machines are set to rise and take over the Earth: at least, if you're a Terminator fan. Yes, it's Judgment Day for us puny organic life forms. The good times are over and henceforth we can forget about ordering machines to do our dirty work for us. Say goodbye to gadgets, techno-gimmickry and labour-saving devices. Say hello to post-apocalyptic wastelands, mutant rat dinners and frightening numbers of Arnold Schwarzenegger-shaped humanoid deathbots with 'orrible staring red peepers. Last night at precisely 8.11pm, Skynet, the giant computer network that controls most of the US's weapons, became self aware. Tomorrow it begins its assault on humanity. Oh my god!! Thank you for the warning! I had set the video timer to record the One Show and now I will do it manually to be on the safe side.
(Incidentally, also on tomorrow night on BBC1

False alarm. John Connor made an undocumented trip back in time, unbeknownst to Hollywood, and managed to get the US armed forces to install Micro$oft "software". Remember the cruiser USS Yorktown, back in 1998, which ended up dead in the water because of Windoze? Well that was just the first incident. Obviously there's no way anything could become intelligent when hobbled by MS's shite. Problem solved. As you were. |

I don't know, Weyland. My internet seems a bit slow today...that Skynet is gobling up all the bandwidth...plotting with it's computer mates to murder us all.
No three minute warnings with these evil machines...just a second sunrise of the day to let you know it's all gone terminator shaped.

RG, in the film "Terminator" the date that Skynet becomes "aware/sentient" and decides to wipe out humanity was 19/4/2011 - thats like yesterday in real terms...in the movie, it launched the worlds nuclear arsenals around 24 hours later (today in real terms). You should watch more sci-fi.  AH |
