Funnily enough, when we have some left over bolognese sauce, we'll have it the following night in a pitta bread lined with lettuce leaves.
I have a problem though with savoury pancakes. Savoury home made pancakes, anyway. It seems almost cruel not to be putting sugar and lemon or Golden Syrup on them! ;D
I'm still into Custard at the moment. Watching Channel Four News last night I just had this sudden urge to make some - but using a little can of evaporated milk, just to see if I could do it in a small quantity.
Oh what an urge it was! Oh! and that reminds me of another thread I meant to start!

Do you know, pancakes are the one thing Mr. E. can actually make without my having to issue instructions.
I usually have to remind him to use "flat flour" (as he calls it) rather than self-raising, though.

I am actually a decent cook (I can knock together a good sunday roast) but pancakes elude me...I have to get the frozen "Aunt Bessie's" ones. It's a good job that there are selfless people like Aunt Bessie out there. AH

Alpha, the trick is the frying pan must be hot, hot, hot. A non-stick one helps too.
Frankly I really can't be arsed to make pancakes, which is why it's got to the stage where Mr. E. has, in desperation, taught himself how to cook them.

Think I'm going to try custard on mine this year.
Hmmmmmmm Custaaaaaaard!
There was (and here again - I've probably told you before) a great recipe for a pancake cake that I saw once. Basically;
Pancake Apple Slices Pancake Apple Slices Pancake Apple Slices
Cooked til' Aples are nice and soft - sugar added, obviously.
Then smother the whole lot in cream!
I suppose you could also add a few raisins perhaps - and a bit of Calvados for extra oomph!
