We had a Ford Anglia - white with dark green down those bits at the side. EVK 386C. (1965: but we got it in about 1969.) But you know what F.O.R.D. stands for, don't you? Fix It Again, Tony. Oh.

Sesley, we watched that programme last night. Mr. E's dad used to work in the foundry at Fords in Dagenham.
Mr. E. had a Ford Anglia (405 CYT) in 1970. It was his first car and it cost £35. It was grey and had rusty wings that occasionally used to be tarted up with Plastic Padding and chicken wire. And it once did 80 mph going down a hill in Devon.
We also had a Ford Corsair, which was probably our favourite car.
In the 60s, the one to own was a Lotus Cortina.

I didn't have a car licence until I was about 25. When I first met Mrs YI she had one of these: I had what you might expect: (Not that one.)
