It's going to give Facebook a run for its money because so far it does away with all the crap that that comes with. Better security settings and better people management tools too. If you're interested I'll send you an invite.

I signed up, but nothing happened - because their cup overflowethed and got the site got bunged up. Seems the way to do get in at the moment is to be "invited" by someone already there, until they sort it out, which is why I asked if anyone wanted one? I'm in through someone on Twitter.
They have this "Circles" thing which is a bit like "Lists" in Facebook, but it's much more upfront. You choose at the start which circle you want people to go in, then when you update your status you choose who you want to see your comment. There are phone apps, though not for the iphone yet which is telling. These let you interact with the site/your friends, like Twitter. So they seem to be simply integrating the better parts of other 'networks'.

They've already leapt on the bandwagon of video chat - but you have to download an extension for it. Anyway I'm too scary for that sort of thing, and've lost my microphone anyway. |

Await the overwhelming avalanche of excitement that is social media today!  Thought the cynic in me feels that this might be as much a flop, or 'niche' site as was Google Wave and Buzz before it. You never know though. |

Well, the only people I'm google +ing at the moment are you lot and my friend Simon, and I can speak to all of you here, on Facebook etc.
I have recently - yesterday - finally caught on to the point of Twitter 'though and must admit to becoming hooked very quickly. It's the transience of it all . . no need to read every post, to scrawl down in case someone's said something you need to read, etc.
It's just there, someone talking shit, when you want to read someone talking shit in as few words as possible.
I think it might catch on . . .
