Tuned in to the BBC today, well before 8 pm, and found myself viewing a discgusting scene.
John Sargent seemed to be rolling around on a quad bike visiting people's outhouses. That wasn't too objectionable (though couldn't he have walked?)...but someone had built a grossly expensive outdoor kitchen and we saw them eating a family meal. Without any warning, we were treated to a close up of some child cramming food in and chewing with her mouth open.
Should I suggest that the BBC adds this sort of shot to their ever growing list of warnings?

People think that kind of thing's cute, though. You can even get posters of it.
There are some right weirdos about, I tell you.

Oooh no. It's not cute. Children will always eat with their mouths open (I suppose it's easier, I don't know), but with correct parenting and reminders, they should learn to keep their mouths shut whilst chewing.
However, it's not just children. I've seen plenty of adults doing it.
And have you noticed how, when there's an eating scene in a play on t.v. the person will always, always, always start drinking while they have a mouthful of food? Now THAT is disgusting!

Actually, Everso, don't you find drinking with a mouthful of food to be really nice sometimes, depending on the food. And the drink. And you have to be careful at the glass/mouth nexus (if that's the word I want).
And when people on TV are in a pub, they'll always leave their drink unfinished. Grrr.
I used to have a friend who was a dedicated smoker. He would not only smoke between courses, but between mouthfuls. He died. Nothing to do with his smoking, though.

It may be natural, but so is defacating, and we don't have to suffer close ups of children doing that. Though I do remember a time when some people used to photograph their babies sitting on potties...presumably to put in the family album and embarrass them when they got to be teenagers.

But that's half the fun when you have teenagers! They can be such a pain in the arse that it's nice to get your own back occasionally.
