I no longer watch DD because I hate seeing disappointed candidates, especially those who are told their "baby" is a non-starter.

That's the whole point of DD though. Watch the poor sap squirm. Horrible. I hate that kind of t.v. It's the ONLY reason that kind of show is popular. I love The Apprentice. Unrestrained empty gobshiting, slapstick comedy, pratfalls, demolition, ejection. Not unlike some messageboards. Know thyself. Presume not God to scan. The proper study of mankind is man.— Alexander Pope.

But you could at least make your quote scan!!! It should go:
Know then thyself, presume not God to scan; The proper study of mankind is man.

What Jean's trying to say, Wey, is that she's out. Let me tell you where I am. Have you got the patent on that unscanned Pope? Has anyone given you any orders for an unscanned Pope? What's to stop someone else from unscanning the Pope? I just don't see the business.

I may not be able to read it very well, but I could make it look a lot less anachronistic in my sleep. I'll be in Ephesus some time in October, so I'll be swatting up. Any touristic tips on Istanbul, Ephesus, Pergamon, or Cappadocia would be most welcome. Teşekkürler.

If I could have, I'd just have done the Greek script. But I can't. Is this better? I was in Ephesus in June 2011 as a last stop on my gulet cruise from Bodrum. What can I tell you? There may well be some flies around in October, but I think you'd be better occupied swotting than swatting all the same.

I was only whingeing about the lack of blending in with the background. I can't help it. Tell me anything. I know nothing. My bad. Thank you. Unforgivable. Mea maxima culpa.

Watched The Den yesterday. Don't usually any more. That new dragon looks like mutton dressed up as Worzel Gummidge in a miniskirt. Still, she's better value than Evan "State the Bleedin' Obvious" Davies, who's no better on Today. When Sarah and Evan are on together I just can't listen to it. They might've made good Teletubby understudies, but that's about it.

True story:
Two blokes with a white van just knocked at my door . . . . .
Me: Yes? Bloke: Plumber. Me: <puzzled> What to do? Bloke: <puzzled> New bathroom. Me: Got one already. Bloke: Not here then? . . . Me: What's the address? Bloke: Don't have address — opposite the pub. Me: This isn't opposite the pub. Bloke: ..er.. Mary? Me: No idea.
Is this the green shoots of economic recovery?
