It is fascinating in that the only e-petition the papers have felt the need to report on is one that doesnt seem very popular (restoring capital punishment).
One of the side effects of putting polls online is that there is a massive skew towards liberal attitude as young people are over represented on the internet.

I take exception to that blatant generalisation, Rob. I'm 64. How old are you? I've met a lot of your young people who wouldn't know capital punishment from a milk-shake, and couldn't care less in any case. And even more ancient relics who think the only place for the death penalty is Texas, China, and possibly Guildford. We could discuss this at the Great Meet. Just name the venue.

there are 3 different petitions for the death penalty. I make it eight on the first two pages alone, not counting the Human Rights ones, which are probably related.

there are 3 different petitions for the death penalty. Even if you add them all up though there are still way less signatures than on the one to retain the ban on capital punishment.

Oh dear. It looks as if taking benefits away from rioters will now have to be considered by Parliament.
