Too many sections .... very difficult to navigate . IMO How about a stub sort out ? Dream on, Farmer. They're here only once in a tartan moon. Not that I'm whingeing or anything. I think you might find it easier to follow SC using the Recent Posts method. There are so few posts that it's easy to read them all and miss none. That's the method I always use on quiet boards, though this one is probably the quietest I've encountered yet, and I've been in the messageboard/forum game since 1985. You can change the number of Recent Posts in the Search dialogue.

Wow, I never do that "last 50 posts" thing...I just wander about until I find something of interest. AH

Yes, we are quiet.
All messageboards are these days. The craze has passed. We just stay here so that we have somewhere to check in with each other I suppose. The days of huge massive totally engaging political debates on messageboards seem so long ago . . .

The 'boys' are arguing about Israel/Palestine AGAIN and everyone already knows what everyone else thinks about it, so it's a bit uninteresting. Another reason is that people are increasingly accessing t'internet on smart phones, and who the feck could be arsed typing out more than a couple of words on one of those tiny wee keyboards?

Smart phones should be purged... Fucktard 1: "ooh, mines an android" Fucktard 2: "ooh mine is an iphone" Fucktard 3: "ooh look at my apps" Normal person: "Shut up you complete and utter bastards...it's a fucking phone, not your first born child!!!" AH

I'm getting one soon. So there. Well don't come here cooing about how clever little "smarty" is and how you can play games on him and how he can function as a camera and suchlike or I will shout at you...really loudly. In all honestly though, not sure why you'd want one, they are bigger and heavier than standard mobys and don't really have that much more functionality than mobys - which sort of defeats the purpose doesn't it? I'm getting one soon. So there. I'm all of a twitter. Apple is the new Micro$oft. Avoid at all costs. If you must, get one that does Android, such as a Samsung. Phones are so passé in any case . . . he said, fondling his tablet.

I was toying with the idea of a tablet...not that I really need one or would use that much, but the "Samsung Galaxy 10.1" is a right sexy piece of kit...but then again, for a few hundred quid more than the price of a tablet, I could get really nicely specced lappy.

AH I have a bog standard Nokia that I pay £15 a month for and get some free texts and calls, more than I ever use. For just slightly more I can get one that doubles as an iPod and that i can go on the internet from. Why wouldn't I?

AH I couldn't afford a Samsung, so I bought a much cheaper one off Amazon, and got the last one. It's not bad at all so far. Does WiFi, Skype, eBooks, Firefox, email, music, iPlayer, radio, takes photos, unameit. Great for taking on holiday. Can be a 3G phone as well if you add a modem dongle, but I won't be bothering with that. And Android is a flavour of Linux, therefore good.

And/or Skype on a PC, laptop, or tablet. Calls are free to other Skype users, and dirt cheap to phones all over the world. And there's free WiFi everywhere these days, so you don't even need to give money to mobile companies. No roaming rip-offs whatsoever.

Why wouldn't I?Because I don't like them, and if you were a proper friend, you would respect my wishes... It's not really the smartphones I hate, it's the people who show off with them. As for the internet, can you really enjoy "teh intarwires" with a titchy 3 inch screen? My current phone can double as an MP3 player and I can have intarwebs on it, I wouldn't dream of using either feature...I already have a great MP3 player and I don't see the need to go online when I am out and about. Mybe I am just old fashioned. AH

You are the sort of person who will actually get some value from a tab, as you tend to travel around a bit, it would just be an expensive gadget to me...which is why I will flirt with the idea, but probably never actually get one. ;D AH

The riots had some potential (not on here of course - as if we'd be so vulgar!) and I had a few days fun with them on GWD on that, but it's gone back to bland. We did do David Starkey on here, but the thread quickly began to involve semi-naked women, which was so inappropriate. (I tried to stalk Riot on GWD but it won't let me. I suppose I may have to join...)
