Yes, we are quiet. All messageboards are these days. The craze has passed. We just stay here so that we have somewhere to check in with each other I suppose. The days of huge massive totally engaging political debates on messageboards seem so long ago . . . We've argued all that there is to argue (or we simply can't be arsed anymore). But it's deffo one of the above. AH Oh you are so right. When I first started I held opinions on everything. Now, I prefer a quiet life with occasional arguments about trifle. |

I'm getting one soon. So there. Yes, I considered it, but felt I'd look a fool having to remove my specs to peer at the damn ridiculous tiny weeny screen. I have enough trouble just sending a text. Christ, I look like an old person when I use my mobile phone. Plus I never hear it when it's in my handbag. I don't know why I bother. No-one phones me anyway - well, except Mr. E. and he gets cross because it always goes on to voice mail because I don't hear it ringing. Maybe it's my ears. Tsk! |

Ok - here's the definitive rant (try googling that, by the way): scone to rhyme with stone, scones have scone, butter, jam and cream.
Trifle is how you want it to be, but the Bird's type is the template (do they still do different flavours?
Milk goes in last.

The riots had some potential (not on here of course - as if we'd be so vulgar!) and I had a few days fun with them on GWD on that, but it's gone back to bland. We did do David Starkey on here, but the thread quickly began to involve semi-naked women, which was so inappropriate. (I tried to stalk Riot on GWD but it won't let me. I suppose I may have to join...) Jeez, I wish you would. The base-level sexism on that board depresses the hell out of me. But if you do Jean, give me a pm first, as they get hundreds of bots attempting to join all the time and tend to just delete them, so tell e what name you're coming in under and I'll alert the mods to look out for you coming. Jeez, the guys on there are just living with these unchallenged base assumptions. And I think they've worn the regular female posters down. Please join and help. |

My mother used to rhyme scone with gone, probably due to the remnant of some regional accent. We all knew what she meant, we all went to Manchester on a buzz. Clothes washing started in t'copper then into t'posstub for a good possing, rinsed in t'sink then off to t'mangle. Don't forget the dolly blue for the rinsing!

the usual political stuff is immigrants,riots,Scotland v England,and wild children and what to do with criminals. middle east stuff i steer clear of,thats a mind field anyway. On Archers you only have to mention a known muslim and you are accused of being a Islamicphobia thingy.Usually they discuss shopping bags and doggies etc. I suppose 9/11 is coming up i expect that will do a run everywhere soon.

I was toying with the idea of a tablet...not that I really need one or would use that much, but the "Samsung Galaxy 10.1" is a right sexy piece of kit...but then again, for a few hundred quid more than the price of a tablet, I could get really nicely specced lappy. AH I have lots of tablets.  |
