Dateline Wednesday, Somewhere in Gelderland/Nordrhein-Westfalen:
Your intrepid roving reporter checking in once again from the Dutch/German Demilitarised Zone. Almost in sight of remnants of the Siegfried Line. (One of an occasional series.) Beautiful summer weather here, temperatures in the high twenties Celsius. German supermarket stacked high with Greek produce, including delicious giant purple grapes, as cheap as ..er.. Greek grapes. Every little helps. ~ Interesting incident noted a few hundred metres inside the Bundesrepubliek: a car with Swiss plates on the Autobahn hard shoulder, boxed in by Dutch Politie and German Polizei cars. At least four people apparently being interrogated. Europol in action? Swiss? I smell a tip-off. Laundered cash? ~ Drove through a <choke> deserted Manningtree and Mistley yesterday <sob>. Only me, the trusty VW, and a few lonely clumps of the tumbling tumbleweed.

Have a lovely holiday, Weyland. Thank you, Ev. I am, so far. Had a lovely day out with my daughter today, ending with a slap-up Indonesian dinner in Arnhem. Absolutely lovely summer weather here. Not a cloud in the sky. Tuesday off to Istanbul, then the Aegean coast of Anatolia. Will see Lesbos in the distance, maybe even visit.

I just remembered I was supposed to tell you everything I know about Ephesus.
What I would hve said had I remembered was make sure you have enough time for the Roman houses which are all under cover, so you may not realise just how much of them there is to see.
But I suppose it'a too late now!
