I have a 3 year old nokia which i like very much,i don't use up money texting,i don't know how ,i just use it for making phone calls,i suppose people just like new toys and will spend loads of money for them.

They're not toys..they're computers which just happen to receive 'phone calls.

Not sure if this kind of thing is for suckers, Sesley. Some people like gadgets, some don't. Also, these companies employ people so if nobody buys these new gadgets people would lose their jobs.
I love my computer, but lots of my friends (being of a certain age) aren't the least bit interested and would probably say I'm a mug.
However, like you, I have a very old mobile phone which serves it's purpose. I make and receive the occasional call and text sometimes, and although I don't like to be driving without it in case I break down, it doesn't otherwise bother me if I'm not carrying it.
