www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15752918Yuck! I can't imagine anything more tasteless and dull. No-one can be that hard up they can't find a filling for a sandwich...someone said pasta and sauce is the cheapest filling of all, and perhaps a degree or two more interesting than dried toast. These enthusiasts for the Victorian diet are starting to get on my nipples. Another alternative is to commit a crime and be guaranteed three square meals per day inside.

It sounds very boring to me - it must be something about the combination odf soft bread and crisp toast.
I can never understand why people eat crisps with sandwiches, either.

I have enjoyed pizza sandwiches in the past. I'd rather just have a slice of bread and butter or toast and butter than put them together, though.
I don't like the idea of pasta or rice sandwiches either: but potato, yes: and I don't care how it's cooked - chips, boiled, mashed etc etc - all great in sandwiches.

It might be the salt and pepper that makes the toast sandwich so tasty: we had a salted and peppered baguette at the weekend and it was very moreish.
