Channel Four has demonstrated that a documentary can be totally absorbing without "conflict", which many film makers seem to feel necessary.
Six nice teenagers going out to live with a lovely Amish couple for a week....they all got on well and the programme was all the better for it.

I must have been drunk last night: I managed to type Arnish twice.

I do have a secret envy for religious types. An admiration in the case of the Amish that with their simple needs they are happy. They have a glass ceiling of their very own that they're perfectly happy to whitewash over. Insofar as even when their kin do decide to leave a community for the wider World and take part in that - be it through curiosity or marriage even, they often return to it after living away.
Oh to be satisfied with ones lot eh? I wonder how the girl (last night) who has everything attended to for here by her parents will come through this experience.
