Elf. (sheer silly)
Nightmare Before Christmas. (Best christmassy scene ever when Jack enters ChristmasTown. Best line: 'Why, he hasn't got claws at all!)
Scrooged. (Best version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Ever.)
What not to watch: White Christmas. (Lyrics include: I'll wash my hair with snow...)

I'd add "Meet Me In St. Louis" with Judy Garland. That scene where she sings 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' always gets me.

It was obvious that she was finished and would never fight or jump again. "she was a good ship" AH

I get dampness at hidden plot revelations (IE - you know it's important the second time and all subsequent times of seeing) in certain films, like Quatermass and the Pit, where he explains that Hobbs' Lane (or is it End?) used to be Hob's Lane, or when someone points out that the "Bomb" is under the ancient bones.
And at bits in The Third Man, North by Northwest, and the end of What's Opera, Doc? ("What did ya expect in an opera - a happy ending?") As well as all the usual ones.
I'm going to try to get a watching of Watchmen this year - last year but one we had the two most recent Batman films, and last year it was the whole of Lord of the Rings (over three days) so Watchmen isn't so weird.

Watchmen is boss...it was a groundbreaking, seminal graphic novel, the film was an incredibly faithfull reproduction. Briiliant film IMO, like most though, the proper directors cut is leagues ahead of the theatrical version. (my sig-line is a watchmen quote BTW). AH

Disney's A Christmas Carol is not terrible. In fact parts of it are actually very good!
It stays utterly faithful to the book. Marley's Ghost was particularly brilliant. My daughter assures me it was much better in 3D. The horses are also superb, even scary. My nephew explained to me that it's not scary at all, well, only if you're eight or something. He's 10.
There's a bit too much Jim Carrey and a bit of a waste of Gary Oldman, but other than that it should be watched and is best enjoyed with an Irish Coffee & a nephew.

A couple of us, feeling not unpoorly, and perhaps verging on a little sorry for ourselves, and perhaps resorting to a stiff drink to forget the day, accidentally watched this absolute gem of a crap film.
In fact, it may be the worst film ever made.
An evil gun slingling midget (sic) terrorises a midget town (called Tiny Town), starring an all-midget (sic) cast. If you are not already condemning this film to the bargain basement of hell then I presume you are doing as I did for the fist 10 minutes: staring mouth agog. And then shrieking with laughter, not necessarily for the right reasons.
I don't advise anyone to watch it. Truly I don't.
Except if you've had a few spliffs.
It's the miniature horses that started me off.
- about 5mins in, the cowboys round up a calf. A fcuking calf! - 7.15-7.35 ish; horse riding skillz fail
