I liked Greg Wallace on the first Saturday Kitchen when he wasn't pretending to be anything vt a grocer..but then he did a Princess Diana and started believing his own PR.
That John Torode is a complete tit.

First time I saw a cartoon on that topic was in Private Eye about twenty years ago. In that one there were several checkouts labelled Six items or less and one at the end labelled Six items or fewer, for pedants.
I knew someone who genuinely believed it was the letters he'd written to M & S that had caused them to change their labelling.
But it's not something I care about much, because there's no loss of meaning if you use the 'wrong' one. And it's possible to argue that the 'six items' aren't being considered as separate entities, but as combining to constitute a single quantity. You can see that more clearly in eg I'll be there in ten minutes or less.
Anyway - and this is the clincher for me - we have to make do with more for both countables and uncountables, so why bother with the less/fewer distinction?
(Not that I'd ever fail to get it right myself, of course.)

Hmm. I forgot to post my . I've been at that.
I found an advent calendar type blog. It's by someone calling himself Hooligan. And Day 2 includes something called a Stubby. Hmmm. See for yourself. I'm enjoying it: hugleikurdagsson.tumblr.com/Day 6:
