I'm going to try this again.
Previously, I had taped it off FX where it was sponsored by a male makeup company, so before every ad break you got these incredibly pink looking fit blokes poncing about rubbing oil on themselves - probably the worst image you could think of to break up a programme about Zombies.
I also disliked all the characters.
Anyway, I've got a D*** L*** of it now (well, not quite all of it) so I'll have give it another go.

Glad you are going to give it another chance Aubs, I love it.
As for the characters, I don't think that many of them are meant to be likable, season 2 you'll get know a bit more about them (season 1 had a lot of encounters with other individuals and groups, so it was hard to get a real grip on the main lot).
Oh, and adverts are the reason I tend to watch dl'd stuff and then buy it on DVD/Blu if it's good, they are so annoying, and they do rip you out of the little fantasy you are meant to be buying into.

Yes, not liking the characters is a poor reason for not getting on with something like this, or anything really.
I'm going to get a cheese sandwich and a whisky and watch an episode from the fifth series of NCIS now. Then an old Charlie Brooker programme.
