I've been awfully ill (flu). Recovered just, although my eyes aren't right and people look like those bug eyed anime characters. I wont be here again after today until the New Year. Not back at work until January 3rd, so taking Mum to my sisters as she's not been good either. I'm afraid she's ailing in her latter years and she's mostly confined to a wheelchair now. Only snag is sis's hubby whom I'm afraid I cannot abide and who is often rude to mum. That the trouble with Chrimbo...family tensions and having to grin and bare it. If you met him you'd understand completely. Oh well, nothing we can do about it, it's all been arranged. If you see there's been a hostage situation somewhere in North Yorks you'll know I couldn't bite my tongue any longer. Please promise me you'll all have the best Christmas ever...and that 2012 will only bring the good and the great to your door. Now I'm off to pack away my earplugs, tranquillisers and hand grenades. (I said to Mum...'we're going way too early by Christmas Eve I'll be wanting to kill him'...) I blame Sesley for all of this!

I survived. Normal Eve followed by Normal Day for the rest of the year. Well actually, I want adventure, romance and fight large cats in some tropical forest. Anything but tinsel, cheese and crackers and glasses of port whilst wearing silly hats and losing the will to live. I should say we had a nice Christmas, because we did. But the brother in law is still as mad as a crate of hares. (He's probably writing just the same on some parallel messageboard) Happy New Year!

Chris, I was going to say "never mind, it is all back to normal".
But it isn't: you've quit.
Come back here AT ONCE!

He's knocking, but I am not sure he's in.
I have a feeling that new accounts have to be validated by the gestapo?
Maybe someone would fetch Riotgrrl or Patrick from the staff room?

Riot's never in the SC staffroom these days. Far too busy Modding and organising Meets on other boards, I'm beginning to think that Patrick is an Artificial Intelligence created by a freak accident in the depths of what passes for software in the world of ProBoards, which appears at random every other blue moon, or not, and then disappears without a trace into realms beyond the reach or understanding of mortal wo/man.

What? You mean we're all left here like survivors in a Titanic lifeboat? Floundering around with nobody to guide us?

What? You mean we're all left here like survivors in a Titanic lifeboat? Floundering around with nobody to guide us? #runningaroundlikechickenwithitsheadoff# 'Fraid so, Ev. We're adrift upon the vasty deep, lost in the trackless wastes of the Howling Ether without so much as a broken link to comfort us. But we're not in a lifeboat -- the bridge officers took those. We're on the rusting hulk, bailing out from time to time, looking for a star to guide us. Aubrey -- give us a tune. Ev, put the kettle on and make some tea. Milk first, mind. The rest of you, help me rearrange these deckchairs. But wait! . . . . . There's a ship over there. I'll get the telescope . . . I can almost make out the name . . . M a r something . . . two words . . . s t e . . . Marie Celeste! Come to our rescue! I don't think they've seen us! . . . Trubs -- Quick! Give them a flash! . . . . .
