after a while her voice grates on me.I think all her records all sound the same now,but just different words.Everytime i switch on a radio her voice drones out. I know she is flavour of the music industry, but will she stop singing soon or sing something different again in the same tone?

She has a lovely voice and delivery, but to my ear she's a one-track-wonder. Even so, light-years ahead of the wall-to-wall Gaga-style shyte we're stuck with in the 21st century.

I watched her Albert Hall performance last night. Her singing was good; it was the bits in between that were so ghastly. She maintained several minutes of ghastly prattle about herself and people she knows or knew, liberally peppered with four letter words.
Can she has any friends left?

I don't like that kind of singing.
Apart from that, a hell of a lot of "Classy" music is just easy listening background music, isn't it? It was The Enemy when I was a kid. Do kids like this kind of stuff now? Or is it adults thinking they're being hip who buy these records?
(Mark E Smith does not swear between songs. He doesn't talk at all between songs. He usually doesn't even look at the audience - he's usually behind the drums, going through a carrier bag full of sheets of paper with lyrics on them.)

That's what the Beatles sound like to me, plus there's a steady drizzle of shite droned out on the broadcast media about how great they were and how PMc is a National Treasure. They always were little more than lift music, with the occasional easy listen thrown in. He was on the Today programme the other day. I couldn't understand some of what he was saying in his classic Salford accent, but what I did catch made me listen (I was dozing in bed at the time).

Thanks, Weyland. I didn't know that. Maybe there's a listen-again possibility. It might've been Friday or Saturday.

Actually, I did know about it. But I had thought it was in the evening.
Just heard it now.
Interviews with him are often like an extended drinking session.
