It pops up every recession! Talk of towns turning to bartering amongst themselves for goods and services. I remember a feature about people in Mid Sussex using a bartering system using the name for the old Sussex Basket "The Trug" for payment for goods and services. In Lewes, in Sussex, they've started printing their own money!
