www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17101768Interesting article. I wear them sometimes at weekends, and as the article suggests, because they are 'easy comfortable durable'? I would say that a large percentage of people wear them nearly all the time and probably don't even think about wearing anything else. My mother argues they make people look scruffy, which can be true. She says society started to go downhill when young men started to wear trainers and jeans. I often remark 'Oh nonsense mother!' But does she have a point? Pride in appearance and all that. Could jeans ever become unfashionable? I reckon so.

Is that Ev, looking as cool as usual on Clacton beach, in the middle? Unlike her to have messy hair though. That's me on the far right, of course, with the cap. I coulda been a contender. Is that you on the left, Chris? Or is it Aub? Talking to the headmistress, presumably.

They look scruffy in the picture that Chris posted, only the guy in the middle has jeans that fit him properly and are straight legged...they are also the darkest on display as well which helps his overall smartness factor. He is even wearing shoes (although I'm not a fan of monk straps myself).
I wear jeans quite a bit, but they must be dark wash/raw wash/one wash or the like (it isn't the 80's anymore folks), and none of that ugly bootcut shite spilling all over your shoes.
As for other fasion crimes...anydody wearing cuffed, twisted seam or drop crotch trousers/jeans should be murdered with extreme prejudice...a pair of classic fit flat front chinos/khaki's/jeans will always look better than those hidious fashion trendy abominations.
I have spoken.

Fun jeans fact: The reason you see vintage denims worn with roll ups is becase the vast majority of jeans were originaly sold to the masses unfinished and in only one leg length. AH

Not so fun Jeans Fact : Nearly all jeans are stitched together in hundreds of thousands of low-wage ‘sweatshops’ and private homes around the world:
You can tell where some of them are by looking at relatively poor countries where jeans are little-worn but large quantities of denim are imported – 48 million metres into Bangladesh, 85 million metres into Turkey in 1996.

Fun Jeans Fact 2: Jeans are aquatic by nature. Release a pair near open water and they will swim to the bed feeding on algae and small fish.

Proof positive that not only is the mighty stub crouch great fun, it is also highly educational.
Would you get this level of knowledge and wisdom anywhere else? I don't think so.

A pair of Levi 501s once terrorised a stretch of coast off Key West in the US. Terrified surfers were lacerated by its fly buttons without warning... many suffering appalling injuries. The pair of brutal denims was later captured by fishermen in 2000.

Is that you on the left, Chris? Or is it Aub? Talking to the headmistress, presumably. I like to go "casual" now and again. Mr. Ev never wears jeans to go out in. Only for doing the garden or washing the cars or some such. He's obviously related to Chris's mum. I often go out in jeans and I have several pairs in a number of colours.
