Here.Though, on reflection, I don't find this as amazing as the much simpler one at the start (or end) of Olaf Stapledon's Star Maker. Some of the comments are a bit, I don't know, as well.

I've seen these things before, I don't like 'em...I hear a mocking voice in my mind as I use/watched them..."puny human, you are nothing". Speaking of space and stuff, I spotted Venus and Jupiter in the week, they were so fucking big and bright and looked well out of place...it was kind of cool that even though I am not a star gazer, somewhere in the depths of my mind there is a picture of how the night sky should look and I recognized that something was different. The human brain is just as amazing as the universe in it's own way. AH

Oh, yes. Cats' brains are pretty amazing as well - all life is. But still insignificant.
I think things like this are a good corrective to assertions like the one I saw on a TV programme nearly 30 years ago - that Mankind has conquered space. No we haven't. We've dipped our toes in, barely got them wet. And them buggered off back to our towel.

We were having dinner and I said to Mr. E. that we must look outside later for Venus and Jupiter. I got myself all excited about it, and after dinner we ventured outside, only to be greeted with thick cloud.

Did it remind anybody about the end of the 1957 b & w film "The Incredible Shrinking Man"?

Now you mention it.
I forgot before, Alph - you can feel really big if you move the slider to the left.
