The trouble is that the people who did, have it.
Those who didn't panic are driving around with their tank lights on orange.

It's interesting to see how the human race reverts to looking after number one when the chips are down. BTW, our tanks are full. We couldn't risk not having any fuel as we have many calls on our time for which we have to use our cars. I feel sorry for anybody who can't get any petrol or diesel, but as we were told by officialdom that there might be fuel shortages because of Unite (bless their little cotton socks) we felt it was sensible to make sure we would have enough. Now, of course, everyone is saying that people were daft to panic, but at the time it did sound as if there would be a problem. Hindsight's a wonderful thing.

I suspect I would've followed the herd and filled up, except that it just so happened the tank was already full when the ministers spouted their drivel. So I can brag about not being a sheep. Around here it's no car = no shops, apart from the almost non-existent and unreliable buses.

We have public transport here, and it's not bad, but it doesn't go where I have to go, at least not at the times I need to go.
