Save the Children is now supporting poor children in Britain with projects it is funding. Right or wrong?

If children need supporting,then right.

A temporary solution. It'll all be put to rights when IDS gets Project Workhouse up and running.

If children need supporting, then right. There are plenty of UK based charities doing that job. There is the Child Povery Action Group which is a campaigning organisation, then there are Barnados, the Children's Society and numerous local organisations well supported within the community. Save the Children works in countries where children often have no access to education, healthcare or clean water , where many are orphans struggling to grow their own food and are in danger of exploitation. Spending money duplicating the work of established UK charities reduced the funds the charity has to spend in Africa, Asia and elsewhere and I'm fuming about it.

A daft comparison - it's rather like all those clothes bags that get shoved through your front door and end up piling up in the cupboard under the stairs until that day when you run out of dustbin bags, must drain some of these charities resources. All for a "Needle in a haystack" chance of a donation.
Not to mention the dodgy companies taking clothes and selling them for no good cause.
