Word from the Bordeaux region is that there is a shortage of Grape Pickers this season and the Vineyards need about 2000 more! It's hard busy work apparently, but the breaks are good with local food and the odd drop of wine yourself!
Apparently - friend said £500 a stretch. Though you never know if he meant €500.
Who's coming?
Damn. Haven't renewed me passport.

We have a new vineyard on the South Downs so why not pop down here? No passport needed - we seem to be about the only place in Britain not demanding independence.

So they are all demanding independence from you and you are to blame! I heard a presenter on the channel 4 news the other night saying that in a month's time there could be No Britain anymore. Now, I need clarification. Surely Britain is the island. So if Scotland's departure from the union goes ahead, Scotland will still be on the island, presumably? Or is Scotland just going to relocate, maybe somewhere warmer? Was the presenter correct?

We'd all move to Scotland if it was warmer!
A stretch - as in the time spent picking I suppose.
I've read/been told that the Champagne growers are actually buying up land in Kent - for fear of losing the quality of the grapes on it's home territory.

Yes, the climate here in the south is apparently as it used to be in the Champagne region 100 years ago. Those winemakers could tell the global warming sceptics a thing or two.
Anyway I'm off on my hols tomorrow - the Lake District.

Gosh, I can't believe the weather we had in Buttermere - sun, sun and more sun. Poor Jack down in Sussex had all the wet.
