Rumours occurring of something happening across the border. Not sure what. Maybe they're having Double Glazing installed, not sure. Anyway! As this board - or should that be "Bored" is at the cutting edge of these things - What do we reckon? He announced to the echoing yellowness Good or Bad? Happy or Sad? I'm all for it! Time for Scotland to have it's own proper identity again - maybe fuel up their own football team once more?! I just hope they're not screwed by Cameron in revenge. After all. The Man Who Failed to Keep the Union is a bit of a failure eh? Even more so than he is already!

Gutted by the result Brian. To choose a football vernacular. Haven't been remotely Scottish for a couple of hundred years when my ancestors became Clan Reynald or Reynard or however it's spelled, after coming over from Scandinavia and France. Nevertheless, what a missed opportunity. What a con!

Me neither! I was most distraught!
Parents are up there though. They don't even really like being up there - having made a rash decision to move blinded by the cheap house prices. Then spent the rest of their time travelling elsewhere in their Camper van. They voted No. Which - which I thought was a bit selfish really. They'd be off back to the Lake District as soon as they could! If they hadn't spent all their money in the intervening period!

Why selfish? Do you mean they shouldn't have voted at all if they didn't intend to stay?

Pretty much. I just don't think their "Heart" is in Scotland, or ever was for all that. They moved out of their village in Cumbria (in reality) because Mum wasn't getting on with her neighbour. There was nothing on the surface - arguments etc - but neighbour just began to bug her and Mum I think wound herself up about it.
Anyway. They initially thought they had enough coming in (Police Pension and all that) to rent a place instead. So they were going to stay in Cumbria. Next thing We know - they've suddenly looking around SW Scotland and within weeks decided to buy a place there. It happened very quickly - Who knows, maybe they had fallen in love with it, but running parallel to this we had been looking to move to North Lancashire - and had been very methodical - Subscribing to the local paper, for a year, checking out which area was good and which was dodgy, making sure where the buses ran etc and the best place to position ourselves for work and things. By Contrast, Mum and step Dad seemed to just stick a pin in a map and go. I'd have understood if they were the impulsive type - but they've never shown signs of that!!! Still. Everyone can surprise sometimes!
Of course, they've well and truly run out of money now and are kind of stuck there! Which doesn't help either!
