Asda and Morrisons have joined the other big supermarkets and announced expansion plans today. Even worse - Kentucky Fried Chicken is going to open more branches similar to the numbers announced by Subway recently.
Very gloomy news indeed. OK, so it means "jobs" - but these are not proper jobs! Mainly Part Time - not to mention the garbage these places produce. (Though that's just MO)
It seems to me that this "recession" is just becoming an opportunity for the rich kids on the block to come and smash the place up unchecked. It just makes me very depressed. We worry about losing our identity if we join the Euro - well - What identity? The bullying Corporates are making sure there is nothing "local" left! Aided and abetted by Government.
