Of course the Americans knew where Scotland was; we invented America. The Declaration of Independence is based on the Declaration of Arbroath. Most of the founding fathers were of Scottish descent. The American system of capitalism is based on Scottish ideas of Adam Smith. OK, I'll give a point to the French for a lot of the separation of church and state and other stuff. They also had some influence. I've always thought of America as 'little Scotland' in many, many ways. I bet Clinton and Salmond didn't mention Kosovo. She likes bombing Serbs. He considered it a war crime. Bet it wasn't mentioned. Further more, I bet poor old Alex was disappointed he didn't get Obama himself. Now that would have been a coup! Alex Salmond is so hot.

Well, I'm sure as soon as B.O (Oh dear - no wonder they don't use his initials much) gets time - he'll probably go on a tour of his ancestral home.
It's what it's all about though isn't it - for the time being - smiles and handshakes and "How d'ya do". Hilary probably couldn't claim fault for what hubby did I suppose??
I remember having a 1975 copy of Punch around years ago - and particularly remember a Cartoon of Henry Kissinger saying "Where is teese Liddle place called Engerland anyway"
Even though it was just Hilary, it's a pin prick in the eye of London (or in the London eye for that matter) that they are taking Scotland seriously.
I bet Wales are jealous. ;D

I think she is wrong to have signed Obama up as a supporter of Independence in Kosovo, and I think Obama has given her too free a hand. Mind you, maybe Hillary will support a Scottish UDI and stick it up the Westminster Government in the same way they did to the Serbs . .

I think Salmond is a rare thing - a decent politician. The Scots need not worry, I believe one of their MPs is meeting with the President himself next month. ;D

Come on!! Salmond is a fool if he thinks that a declaration of full independence would be a smart move for Scotland. The Scottish banks debacle shows that only too clearly. But still he waffles on about the break up of the Union. Poor deluded fool.

It was a joke, paralleling Scotland with Kosovo because of the Clinton connection. Shewsh. Alex is hot.
