I've long banged on about the cost of motoring being cheap, thanks to numerous websites and examinations of this over the years. I was beginning to wonder though - with the recent changes in taxation and fuel prices if it really was still the case.
It is!
The cost of motoring has fallen by 18% in real terms over the past 20 years, despite the price of fuel rising by 210% in that time, an RAC report says.
