You can't beat a nice bit o' Wolfgang Amadeus to get you going. How true. Nothing like a good Eine kleine Nachtmusik. [This is your intrepid roving reporter checking in from a cold, damp caravan site somewhere on the NL/D border. Had the most horrendous journey yesterday. I'll bore you with it on the thread where they're talking about motorways and stuff.]

Its the first version of the song i ever heard, and the woman i love played it for me the first time i ever heard it.

Interesting Top Five Downloads so far since iTunes put the Beatles' music catalogue online yesterday. On PM just now.
IMO all bubblegum stuff at best, but No.2 -- Twist & Shout -- isn't even a Beatles song, and has any number of better versions even apart from the original Isley Brothers'.
And No.1 -- Hey Jude -- is just a dirge and/or nursery rhyme. Must say I'm surprised it wasn't that other interminable drone, Yesterday.
And it's dearer than buying Beatles CDs. Even a Beatles fan would have to be doolally.

The teacher who took us for French and German used to whistle it all the time.

But I DID like their version of Twist and Shout. It was on an EP. My friend Avril bought it and we used to play it over and over again. I liked their earlier stuff much more. Similarly, The Rolling Stones. I only really like their old stuff.

Yes, I heard most of it too. Is it repeated next Friday? Or was last Friday's one repeated today? I can never remember.

Cathy Burke, Ian McMillan, Alice Cooper, Riot Grrl, Johnny Vegas, to name but a few. All real, warm people. Mostly. I reckon Kirsty Young's the best presenter they've ever had, by a country mile. Here's the Archive.

I've been dusting and hoovering this morning to this (among others):
I got into a bit of a state because I tried to do all the voices, and I was really out of breath by the time the record had finished.
I know all the words, but unfortunately I don't have Mama Cass's voice or her lung capacity.

She's a phenomenon and a half, and gorgeous with it. I've been driving a lot today, and had her on all the time. It's addictive, seductive, manipulative, and just plain shouldn't be allowed. A very talented lady, and a great little band. Stuck is probably my favourite track -- see my sig -- or possibly That Man.

No groaning, no shrieking, no glottal stops. Wonderful stuff. She's a well padded girl with a pretty face too.
