Psychologists believe shopping could be a way for premenstrual women to deal with the negative emotions created by their hormonal changes. " Is that like pleading guilty on grounds of diminished responsibility? Will wimmin be able to argue successfully that they're not responsible for their spending?

The last part of the article says it all; forewarned is forearmed, and if women are conscious of the dangers they can be on their guard. It is I suppose like my visits to some of my relations; I know I will be reaching for the bottle when I get home, but I won't be blaming my alcoholic tendencies on my in-laws!

It's interesting, isn't it, that when a woman is pre-menstrual (and therefore irrational and aggressive), that is the time in her cycle when her hormones most closely match the normal male hormonal patterns.

That means that if a woman can use her hormones as an excuse for behaving oddly once a month, men have a permanent get-out clause.  |

Right up until this horrible evil recession when they took away my platininum credit card from my cold dead hands . . .they've promised to give me it back in a year. It's ridiculous, because now I'm FORCED to use store cards for my spending sprees, and they're even MORE expensive than credit cards. So short-sighted of the bank to do this to me . . . |
