All of the innocent smoothies I checked had more sugar in them than Coke. They are lovely though, as is coke

but in the interests of efficiency the large corporate could never sustain it's arms length social conscience for very long could it? I think if people demand products like innocent smoothies with the ethos associated then that is what companies will deliver. It all depends whether we are willing to pay for it or not. Considering the price of innocent smoothies it seems people are willing to pay the price and coke obviously want to buy into the new eco-friendly trend of which innocent smoothies seems a relatively big part (in this country at least). I think it is a bit of a cop out to blame the multinations and if I owned innocent smoothies I would be selling it as quick as I could to coke and would be currently on holiday ;D

Still, I can see what Patrick's saying. You tend to think of Innocent as, well, innocent and eco-friendly. I quite like smoothies, but usually I only drink tea, coffee and water (besides wine, beer, spirits that is). Hate Coke with a passion though Yee-uck.

I think it is a bit of a cop out to blame the multinations and if I owned innocent smoothies I would be selling it as quick as I could to coke and would be currently on holiday ;D The one thing I could blame the Multinationals for with any conviction is that by buying into these brands they (probably) think it will take the heat off them elsewhere - in Coke's case it's the place in India or Africa where they've been depriving the locals of any decent water supplies. As for Innocent themselves - I'd tried one or two - and yes, they are too sweet, but overall I'm put off something as large as they were anyway, ethical reputation or not - they're still up for some form of global domination as much as the next bod along. I also tend to avoid anything where the name becomes a designer label! I'm mystified at the moment by the number of different "makes" of milk available at the moment - all claiming some wowee health advantage over ordinary milk. Which is full of goodness anyway! Organic Food for instance - is just Food that's gone back to basics where food production is concerned - but to sell it they have to give it a "label" i.e: Organic. Which to the uninitiated makes it "different" wouldn't it be a better marketing coup if they called it "Normal" food? In order to make out that the chemically induced Genetically modified stuff is the "Different" stuff?

Rob, Coke is the Devils groin sweat...eurgh!
I like tea, pure orange, hot chocolate, horlicks, milkshakes and booze (any old grog will do, you generally can't taste it after a few slurps).

Oh, on the booze front, the only alcohol I won't touch is...
A: Whiskey, because I do bad, stupid things when I drink it.
and
B: Red "Stock", because I've never been so sick in all of my life as when me and a mate did a few bottles in...bleurgh...

I have managed to wean myself off it using aversion therapy.
I have a nearly full jar of it in my cupboard and just knowing it's there gives me the strength to stay 'clean'.
Sometimes I open my cupboard and stare at it. I immediately feel most hostile towrds drinking it.
