FFS, making the meals in his own kitchen then taking them to the pubs he runs is hardly 'ready made' meals. I thought you were talking about Co-op microwave meals or something . . .

I suppose it depends on the sort of establishment you are talking about. At a pub, I would expect a lot of stuff on the menu to be pre-preapred and frozen; at a gourmet restaurant, it should be prepared fresh.
A chum works in a pub which serves food bought from a catering company. When out for a meal at a more up-market venue (another pub with its own restaurant) she saw "home made steak and kidney pudding " on the menu and ordered it. By a strange co-incidence it was identical to the ones she served daily in her pub - only twice the price.
