Got an invite to meet Stephen Fry this morning and I've spent ages dithering over whether to accept it. On the one hand, I'd love to meet him but on the other the expense and time getting down to London is just not worth it.
So I've decided against it.
Dammit. Will I regret this?

Got an invite to meet Stephen Fry Wot? Personally? Dammit. Will I regret this? Maybe not today! Maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life...... Sorry, couldn't resist that! I've got a signed copy of his biog. The question related to the other half of the saying that makes up the title, "Moab is my Washpot". It was dead easy to win - all I had to do was look it up in the copy of his biog I'd already bought!

Nah, it's a launch do in Regent Street where he's officiating. Chances are I'd go all the way down there and be lucky to get a "hello" in.
With the wife not working, about £150 in travel & the like isn't really on.

Then you're probably right not to go to-day but still...take this chance to make contact with him.
Networking. Much as I hate it, it works.
Fry is into all things computer network orientated right now, he might not know about this new juryteam idea and texts and messageboards becoming a new platform of electoral power and he might just love the idea.

Yeah - that's why I'm swithering. It could be a damp squib, but it also could be a way of getting attention.
Did I mention I get to bring a friend? ;D

BTW, I now have a blog wwwthepartysover.blogspot.com/ For some reason I can't subscribe to your blog, and I'm going to be too lazy to keep looking at it in case you've posted something new. Can you link it to your Facebook so new blog entries show up on your Facebok page, which will make life a lot easier for me.
