There's a word to get SWL running! ;D Did a home made one tonight - Pizza base was a biscuitty little number from me Organic shop. Spread with Rosemary Olive Oil and the usual tomato paste and cheese (Golden Mature) then baby prawns, mushrooms, roasted yellow pepper (should have been green for colour but they were out of), a small tin of tuna, more cheese and tomato slices.
Still managed to burn the roof of my mouth! (Why does Pizza always do that?)
It worked out very well - full of the different flavours and not at all greasy or gunky. It's been a long time since we've done one that way - it's always worth knowing what goes into these things, good stuff.

i make my own pizzas including the bread base, i want to invest in a proper pizza stone to get the real bread base effect you see in pizza land, its something to do with getting the stone very hot before cooking on it and that effect should make a nice crisp pizza dough

So how do you heat the pizza stone, Selsey?
I once stayed with a friend who had bought an old farmhouse in Spain. It had an oven built into in the outside wall and one day, just for fun, my OH and friend decided to try baking bread in it.
They were delighted with the result, but it tasted of charred wood on the outside and wasn't quite cooked in the middle.

you put it in the oven when you turn it on to preheat. then just place your pizza on it for some oven magic.

Pizzas are nice but I think the tastiest ones are the ones you knock up and cook yourself (no, I don't make the bases, I get them from the supermarket)
