And a welcome peck from me.
I hope you will all be taking part in the RSPB garden bird survey in June! If I can, I will post a link in the Garage.

No, I do not participate in the annual RSPB bird survey. Because all I'd have to report is magpies, magpies and more magpies. The magpies rule the roost around here.

The RSPB urge people to send in the results even if they see nothing at all.... and your magpies will (I suspect) by very useful to the study.

Thank you all for welcome and thanks Nick for.... oh, I dunno...I'll think of something... *Suzee gently revives Patrick with ostrich feather fans and gentle music* Bit bemused about Piffle's mensa joining Domme - I'm sure she's lovely, but can't think why I'd want to read about retraining men - read and tremble, Nick! I may do RSPB survey - It's flagged in Radio Times (I'm a great fan of RT!) and I do have a busy garden. As I told Housesparrow, I do get lots of sparrers here as well as a pair of blackbirds and some collared doves. There is also a robin and ocassional visit from some bluetits and starlings. Itry to discourage the magpies - They really are everywhere in recent years aren't they? I'm a bit far for the gulls but they are sometmes around and similarly discouraged.

Last year the magpies set up camp sitting in the gutters on the roof opposite to where nesting blackbirds were and scared the living daylights out of them. All day long they'd sit, and screech, and bully. So much so that any chicks kept falling down the house wall cavity and under the floorboards. We rescued one, I like to think the other two we heard last year found a way out! Just the one so far this year - and not as many Magpies.
