I hadn't been paying much attention to the Age-o-meter at the bottom of the Home Page, because I thought SC's 1st Birthday was in July! So, rather embarrassingly, raise a glass for your friendly - fluffy - neighbourhood board! May it be a long time we don't get bored of it!

I'm the little kid in the corner grumping because I didn't even want to come to this party and my mum made me.

If we're being nostaligic, btw...Patrick, is that an old avatar? I think you had it when I first joined the JSG, didn't you?

I was considering buying a present or making a card or something, then I realised that I have contributed whole years worth of glorious, witty, perceptive, informative and downright boss posts...am I not generous? AH

I had no idea of the concept of "Birthday Parties" and was invited to the party of someone who'd even pushed me down the stairs at Nursery School! (So I didn't like them) Well! When my Mum left - I just burst into tears! I don't remember anything else about that one.

Whilst you're at it - Raise a glass to The Orchard too. If it wasn't for the ups and downs of that place and it's esteemed leader - then Stub Crouch might never have happened, and as I mentioned in a thread somewhere - Stub Crouch used to be next door to an orchard, In fact Stub Crouch in the 1800's was an Orchard, before someone built a house on it!

I do the same with motto's posts as well, I believe he has much sage wisdom and wise sayings to pass on to those who live in the future.
Trubb posts are also preserved...but only as a dire warning about uppity women who are generally a danger to mankind.

Well, as I mentioned on my birthday thread, I had not realised until last week * that Stub Crouch is a hop, skip and jump from my birthplace and childhood home. Patrick and I have been sharing little bits of nostalgia, even though I left the area before he was born. We both knew the same (scary) teacher though!
It is a great board, with great posters. Long may it thrive.
* A week begins on Sunday, gentle people, whatever your calendar may tell you.

Hear, hear!
Is it a year since I brought my chaise longue into Stub Crouch?
I may have to consider getting it recovered.
