I worked with one of The Big Three in Holland. Can't remember which one. He was a Technical Writer at that stage in his career.

Funny thing, this weekend we've been down to see my brother and family. His eldest boy has just had his hair cut in the style that lots of footballers now have - i.e. the hair is cut fairly short on top but, using very strong gel, it's made to stand up like a cock's comb. His mum wasn't too keen and tut-tutted about today's hairstyles, until I reminded her of the 1970s and how lots of young boys and men sported extremely long hair - and not always cut well. I think the 1970s were the worst in fashions and hairstyles for men although at the time I thought they looked great.

Yes, Aubrey, you're correct. Fashions were pretty dire. I liked the 80s fashions best

Mr. E's hair was cut specially for our wedding, but looking at the photo, you'd never think it.

I used to be able to take my hair under my chin, and suck the end. People used to beg me to do it at parties (I think that's what they meant anyway).
I also used to have a beard.
The only thing good about our cat getting run over in 1980 was that it gave us (me and my brother) an excuse to cut our hair.
We were playing in Leeds that night. As soon as we got there, the bloke from the group we were playing with (Here and Now: a right bunch of hippies) called, "Sell out!" from the door of their tour bus. Our hair was still quite long then, as well.

Yes, I wondered that. I thought maybe it was some hippy mourning thing.

It's like the ancient Egyptians shaving their eyebrows off when their cats died (so I've heard). We'd both had long hair for so long (ooh, it must have been a couple of years) that we needed an excuse. We got it cut almost before she was cold: I'm pretty sure it was the same day, anyway. The house was over-run with fleas after (we left her body inside over night: a bad mistake).

I thought for a minute it had something to do with you and your brother cutting your hair.

Women looked their best during the 40's and 50's.
Smart, feminine and tidy.
Us blokes also looked well smart as a matter of fact.

She often dresses in the styles of the 40s. Dressing up is good. I think she may well be the much sought-after perfect woman. Looks, figure, sings, dances, teaches music, speaks perfect Dutch and English. My daughter calls her my girlfriend. In my dreams. And I'm going to a concert of hers next week in Enschede. Can't wait. (See my sig.)

Alph and mud wrestling! Tsk! Moto too. What's wrong with them? Honestly.

Maybe they can't help it . . . maybe it's all the rage on Merseyside and in central Finland. The Herd, etc. Will we ever know? Tskerino! ~ Not that glands are the ultimate measure of attraction. Far from it. I cite the letters I and Q in this context. Much more important, IMHO. In fact, essential. ~ (Having said that, you're not exactly in the fried-eggs department yourself, dear lady.)

Female mud/baby oil wrestling is a perfectly healthy interest. And back to clothes, I had a bookmarked site that had loads of pictures from the 1965 New York Worlds Fair, the people even looked smart then. Can't seem to find it now though. AH
