Just heard a band called Kasabian on FiveLive. Had only heard of them before. Great name, but they sound like a cross between Wizard and the Village People. Could that possibly be the intention?

Just heard a band called Kasabian on FiveLive. Had only heard of them before. Great name, but they sound like a cross between Wizard and the Village People. Could that possibly be the intention? I hate the name myself - they took it from Linda Kasabian one of Charlie Manson's gang of murderers. I'm not that mad on the music either to be honest!

I suspect it dates back to the days when decent women didn't leave the house with their hair uncovered, be it by hat or shawl, and those women who had their hair uncovered were considered of lower class. But I'm guessing here.
