(the clue is in the title; the point is to post something that is in everyday experience which you have never had, and which you would never want.)
A massage

I have never given a massage in my life, and have no intentions of starting. I have never received a massage, etc. What common thing have you never had and would never want?

(the clue is in the title; the point is to post something that is in everyday experience which you have never had, and which you would never want.) A massage I have a friend who says the same, and, as you've told us before, "you touch me, you marry me" - yes? I've had several and they are wonderful.

I'm sorry, Riot, but I really can't imagine why anyone would be so anti-massage as to put it on a thread like this. Even apart from the obvious sexual connotations. Is it perhaps a Presbyterian thing? As it happens, I've never been in the hands of a professional massage person, but I've no doubt I will be one day. Probably at one of those lovely spa places they have in Germany. I've visited a few of them, but never had the massage yet. Great places.

I've never had, and never want, long nails, real or false. Okay, so one's fingers need a millimeter or so at the end to sctratch and unpick things, but talons? Ugh....
No thanks

If someone in a shop serves me and has long fingernails (especially the kind that you get done at those little Asian places where they have to wear masks) I can't bear it when they hand you the change and you're waiting for those nails to touch your hand.... brrrrrrrrr

Me too. I don't know why but I cannot stand the thought of a stranger "mauling me about". I realise this is another example of my insanity. Different folks, different strokes. Therapeutic, I'd call it. How about not a stranger? Therapeutic in a different way. Trust me.

sky dive, parachute jump or bungi jump - i think i'd hate the sensation of falling like that. always balked when we were made to dive into the pool at school. those nuns would tie a belt round our ankles to improve the dive and i absolutely dreaded my turn. hated it.
as for massage, i'm with Weyland there. mmmmmmmmmmmmm......heavenly. even more so when your bones have been aching. the first time i had a proper one was in iran when an american familiy i knew used to call in a local woman who would come round to their house and work her magical fingers and hands on them and me. she never scrimped on time and used delicate, subtle oils. it was utterly, divinely, sensuous. and then afterward you were left with a blissful sense of walking on air.

Exactly. A pedicure does that for me too and during the summer months when the everso feet are on display I go regularly to get them tarted up. And skydiving etc. No way. I'm a complete coward and wouldn't risk my body. The worst thing of all was last year when our son was in New Zealand and posted his sky dive on youtube for me to see. The little bugger. He doesn't care about all the pain I went through giving birth to him. Stitches inside and out and all that.
