The polls have closed. The polls have closed. OH FS I'M GOING OFF mY NUT WITH EXCITEMENT. Can the opinion polls be believed? Are we going to storm it? Could my nation even be normal in a year or two? OMG THIS IS THE MOST EXCITING THING IN THE WORLD EVER EVER EVER. X I do love your wild, unbridled enthusiasm for this sort of bollocks, RG. That said, the "yes" vote will be crushed under the jackboot of British sensibleness (best jackbooted sensibleness in the world, obviously). AH

I DON'T GIVE A FUCK HOW WE VOTE FOR THE PARLIAMENT IN LONDON: I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO VOTE FOR THE PARLIAMENT IN LONDON IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! I WANT OUT!!!!
I voted for AV for purely intellectual reasons. I really could care less what method is used.
I don't want to be governed from there. Vote for it how you like. Do it naked to the waist and greased down in olive oil for all I care.
JUST LET MY PEOPLE GO . . .

I've NEVER velt a vibe like this for the SNP before. I've always been entirely realistic, cynical even, about the chances. But then again, I've never seen a Labour Party so lacking in soul and mojo, and I've never seen such warmth for a serving politician ( except maybe Tony Blair in the early days) as for Alex. I'm not even drunk, and I'm thinking this, so there's a chance I might be right. Or else the breakdown has finally happened. I'm going to feel a right twat in the morning if I come on here and the SNP are not back in power. The kiss of death. I had Blair weighed up accurately even before John Smith died. Threw my Labour Party card in the bin the day Blair became leader. Worse than Thatcher, in the sense that she at least did believe in her vile dogma. However, I think you're right about the SNP, would vote for them were I a Jock, and wish you all well in your quest.

That said, the "yes" vote will be crushed under the jackboot of British sensibleness In other words, no change. Government by a minority, exactly as before. If only Britain were a democracy, how great it could be.

Why don't you Independantanistas (I made that word up) take over a little island and set up your own nation there? Everybody wins. AH

Daily Mail poll has SNP on 51% of constituency vote (the FPTP bit).
And 53% on the list top-up vote (the PR bit).
I would be over the moon if we held the Parliament as a minority Govt, but if the Daily Mail is to be believed, this is truly historic.
Oh hold on, I've just seen the immediate problem . . if the Daily Mail, etc.

I voted NO. I had three votes on my local election paper. I voted two Conservatives and one UKIP. So there. Funny thing — to me, Nigel Farrago is the Great Satan (and UKIP is just a posh version of BNP plus a brain-cell or two) yet he talks a lorralorra sense about AV. Funny old world. (The BNP is dead against AV, of course. Goes without saying.) Yes, I know it seems a bit odd me voting UKIP, but I know the bloke, see. He stood up and spoke up for residents at a borough council meeting a while back when they wanted to build a travellers' site nearby (somewhere that - oddly enough - the borough council had previously turned down for building houses on, on the basis that it was in a dodgy position regarding traffic). He won the day. Also, I'm not keen on the other Con bloke.

I really have to go to bed soon . . but that's the 3rd seat in a row, SNP gain from Labour.
This is a parallel universe. I've been plugged into a different part of the matrix.
