I can never choose.
So let's compile personal shortlists. 10 or less items per list.
Your personal shortlist for films. Your personal shortlist for music. Your personal shortlist for books. Your personal shortlist for ...anything you can think of.
I'm going to start with films.
1. Glengarry Glen Ross
2. Little Miss Sunshine
3. Some Like It Hot
4. Casablanca
5. Jungle Book
6. Duck Soup / A Day at the Races (What. They are on the same video, they count as one.)
7. Castaway (just practical really)
8. Swallows and Amazons (again practical) My Fair Lady! (Much more practical)
9. Dances with Wolves (Hate it but it's long and I'd never watch it so always something left to still watch thus creating an atmosphere of choice)
10. A Night at the Opera

On reflection, I might have to swap out the Paracord (item 7) for a mosquito net...don't want to be getting munched on by creepy crawlies. AH

I don't think you're allowed stuff like that, Alpha.
Give me a while and I may come up with something.
But I saw Forbidden Planet on Tuesday, and isn't it a good film? I hadn't seen it for 30+ years, just bits of it, and I had thought the kissing bit and the drunk cook with Robbie bit were a bit cheesy: but no, they are really important to the plot.
And when they go into the Krell's workings, that is one of my favourite scenes of any film.

That's not a desert island, anyway. So what is a desert island? (Never gave it any thought until now.)

That's not a desert island, anyway. So what is a desert island? (Never gave it any thought until now.) Well it's too bloody late anyway, I've got me cargo shorts, trekking sandals and rucksack all packed and ready to go. A desert Island is a deserted island as far as I am concerned, and unless Jean can offer up some conclusive proof that said island is inhabited, I am claiming it for the "annual Stub Crouch desert island discs weekend survival jaunt". I have the remastered 50th Anniversary 2 disc DVD set, not watched it yet, it includes "the invisible boy" which was some kind of Robbie the Robot spin off movie (which sounds terrible to be honest ;D ). The trouble is I never seem to put up the same list twice. It depends on my mood as to which films I consider my favourites. Anyhow, today's films are (in no particular order):
Sense & Sensibility
Titanic (and I don't give a monkey's what anyone thinks - Chris understands)
Gone With The Wind
County Hospital (best Laurel and Hardy film)
Meet Me In St. Louis
The Great Escape (come to think of it, this one's always on my list)
Top Hat (Fred & Ginger)
The Godfather
This Happy Breed
Oliver Twist (the 1948 version)

The Great Escape (come to think of it, this one's always on my list) Good choice. The great proto-Rocker himself in action. [It was a Triumph, however wildly unlikely that may seem in the context. Replica in the Imperial War Museum, I hear.] [Did I tell you I have a Triumph?] [Did you see THIS, Ev?]

Fascinating! Turns out there's an Italian bloke who can turn a modern Bonneville like mine into a Great Escape replica . . . So I know what I want for Xmas.

Jean: That's the bunny!
Weyland: I'm not a fan of bikes, but that is very pleasing to the eye, classic look with lot's of matte black...very sexy indeed!

Indeed it would fit in well with the other vehicles. Maybe I'll order a thousand or two for the colonies. Nothing's too good for our colonists. WY Corporation – Building Better Worlds~ This is the naked version, same as mine . . . Note the elegant Magpies livery. What else?

Hmm, bikes.
In Australia they call Bikers Bikies.
I want a bunch of Bach as well; the correct term is A shit-load of Bach.
