The second series of Downton Abbey begins later on this month. I'm so looking forward to it! Apparently, a third series it planned as well.

I was coerced into buying my mum series 1 of this on DVD for mothers day.
That is all I have to say on this subject as I've never seen said program.

It's got totty, Wey. Not my types, Trubs. Are there any Downton Police Ladies in full uniform, with handcuffs and a commanding presence?

I reckon PC O'Brien would duff you up a bit, for the right price.

Right. So that's Trubbs and me that are Downton fans. I'll keep reminding you, Trubbs. Alpha, you should borrow the box dvds - I'm sure your mum will lend them to you. Weyland, it's nothing like Larkrise. Far far superior. Great for ironing to.

But, the bloke that was the dad in Larkrise is the butler in Downton - which is why he was absent from Larkrise in the last series. They tried to pretend he'd gone to Oxford or somewhere. Hah! He was butlering in the Abbey.

Weyland, it's nothing like Larkrise. Far far superior. Great for ironing to. Right. I'll watch it. Even without Dorcas and WPC Payne. Is there a working-class hero? And, of course, a chinless Sub-Lieutenant Tarquin Fintin Limbimbim Ptang Ptang Ole Biscuit-Barrel, fresh back from the fleshpots of Shimla Hill Station?

Actually you know, it's not really like that. They are fairly upper but not in a chinless kind of way. I'm sure you'll like the ladies, Weyland. I'm half in love with one of them and I'm as straight as a die.

It starts on Sunday 18th September. I'm so looking forward to it. They're even talking about a THIRD series set in the 1920s. Oh joy!

Weyland, you have borrow a copy of the first series of DA. Ask Alpha's mum. Or go and get it from the library or something. You have to get into the swing of it first or you won't enjoy the second series.

Speaking as a latecomer to Downton (which I still call Downtown ), I concur. Get yourself into gear, Wey!
