And, using these limited tools (of logic and the English language) you're calling me (and SWL) liars. I didn't. You seem to see a lot of things in life as battles, with sides. All I do is struggle through, noting facts, meeting people, and having a laugh. I didn't call anyone a liar. What it all boiled down to was that I didn't agree with your -- frankly ridiculous -- definition of pornography. I couldn't exactly "side" with that. It's all in the thread, as you know, and I won't embarass you by dragging out the details -- such as the above-mentioned definition -- yet again. Fuck you Weyland, really. Your definition of porn was 'dirty pictures' (what??) I stated that pornography was a social construct and couldn't be defined by this picture or that angle, but by the context in which it could be found. - - - - What is it that makes you so unwilling to even contemplate that porn may be more extreme, and is definitely more available than it was previously, and that we might like, as a society, to think about whether this is a good thing or not and how it might affect sexual expectations and behaviours. To me that is a mild and perfectly reasonable assertion. But for some reason the men got all defensive, mocking and sneery at even being asked to consider that proposition. - - As I say Weyland, fuck you. It doesn't matter how you spin it. The only person who ever called anyone out on any of it was Mikado, who is a gentleman and a scholar. So all these pleas for me to return to GWD are falling on pretty deaf ears . . I'm not willing to be the entertainment any longer. Although, judging from the porn thread, you're able to find other ways to amuse yourself.)

Never heard that before. I also learned "spittin' feathers" from a Scouser. What I meant to say was that I know nothing of any reconciliation, and Riot -- the original conciler -- is incommunicado.  I'll be at the GWD Meet on 22 September. If she's there I will do my level best, but I'm afraid it's a fond hope. Is anyone else from SC interested in attending that Meet? Let me know. So far I know that Ev and I will be there (I've booked the coach). Sparra will be away on holiday. |

Oh Lord. I'm away for a week on holiday and this happens!
I know Riot has taken a lot of flak recently on GWD but I'm surprised about her resigning this board.
Not much to be done. I keep in touch with her on Facebook and by occasional email, but obviously it's her choice if she doesn't want to come back to the boards.
I hope she does though, as she's a great poster.
