I don't agree with you that Rangers & Celtic should play in England SWL, but you are undoubtedly correct about the size of their following and the profitability of their brands.
Big Rangers Celtic game this weekend. Hospitals and Police Cells will be full . . . . sure some people make a lot of money out of them, but the cost to the public purse in health and criminal justice terms is pretty big too.

(Dirty) Leeds, Wolves, Nottingham Forrest etc are huge clubs with real history, they don't get an automatic right to play in the prem, niether should jock clubs.
Like I said, if Rangers and Celtic are good enough, they will rise to the top, if not, they won't.
Scottish clubs are only big in scotland, rangers and celtic seem to think they are as important in the grand schem of things as Liverpool, Mancscum, AC Millan, Real Madrid, Ajax, etc...honestly, they aren't.

Just imagine the bloodshed? If R and C were in a new "UK League" and some of the rowdier London clubs went North of the border!

(Or so Celtic claim, according to Gothboy). So a Rangers v Chelsea match would be a love-in, but Chelsea v Celtic would be a bloodbath.

AH and Ireland. Yeah. Every weekend one boatload of cocks or the other sails from Belfast to Glasgow to see their 'local' football team. I suppose Belfast is quite close to Glasgow as the crow flies, but they can't seem to get it in their heads that the sea is there for a REASON.

That's domestic politics on your side of the border...they are well behaved when they come down here, in the pubs all night, loads of banter, no trouble, no arrests, no hassles....

Point 1: I don't want to get into all this again, because we'll end up arguing viciously...tooth and claw.
Point 2: I thought the biggest problem in Scottish football was sectarianism...stemming from Irish politics/history?
