I didn't see it, but it'll be on again.
I love the story, by the way; and I hate it when they mess about with things like this - I know - different medium and all that, but still. They seem to have messed about with this a lot: but I'm glad that they're still doing James's stuff.
(I re read MR James all the time. I wish I'd never read him before, then I could start again, fresh.

No, the one in the congregation yawning and looking at his watch.

Everyone agrees that this was the best moment of the broadcast Mass: That bloke checking his watch was obviously wondering why Santa hadn't appeared yet, bringing his Wii. Or maybe he just wondered when he was going to be able to have a wee. I didn't spot you, Jean. Did you?

There was a good shot of OH, for a second or two. I was next to her but you only got to see my left hand, which I would not expect you to recognise.
Unfortunately they cut the two best pieces - the plainsong Communion antiphon and the Tallis - because it was going to be too long.

I've not watched it yet, but Lancaster comes through the wash looking very pretty on tonight's Songs of Praise on earlier tonight. Including I believe a brief glimpse of our Wonderful original Coffee shop.

What do all these titles mean, Pat? I've often wondered.
What's an Old Fluffy Stubby as opposed to a Prefect (like Riot) or a Grand Syndic (like Weyland)?

I'd been Fluffy Too practically since I was press-ganged into joining up (by you, Ev, I dare say). I mean! So I asked Riot nicely to make me Grand Syndic. My choice. She begged Patrick, and the rest is history. No actual cash changed hands per se. So . . . roll your own. Mistress of the Chaise?

Great British Railway Journeys is back on and as enjoyable as ever - if you can excuse a: Michael Portillo and b: the constant "Today we are going to.... Today we have looked at..... Tomorrow we will be looking at" Repetitiveness of the programme. I keep missing the damn thing 'cos it's on (again) at 6:30pm on BBC2 and you are just doing other things at that time. It'll be repeated, you can guarantee that, on BBC4 as it was last time, but I've been catching up on iPlayer. Sadly the first week has been taken off there now but the rest is still good for a look. Mr Portaloo is a fairly engaging presenter though still seems a bit lost when talking to people - better this series though. Of course, he's just a narrator really and it could be anyone doing it (Oz Clarke as a train fan would make a good replacement).
I'm running two weeks behind at the moment (nearly three) and he was in Newcastle just now visiting the site of a one time coal mine. As soon as it was mentioned I thought "Dodgy!!" considering Portillo's past, but guess what - they found one that was shut during the Labour years in 1968 (Clever!). This was possibly to avoid the situation when in the last series, passing through the one time industrial heartland of England Portillo asked a passer by about the use of an old building only to be told what it did until "Your lot closed them all down"! #classictv!
Of course, one of the main things about progs like this is it just proves how much there is in the UK to see. A big Yahboo to those people who say they're bored of the country and there's nothing left for them any more.

..........and while we're at it. I've enjoyed Wogan's Ireland - for all it's frothiness - and wished it had been longer.
