Haven't watched any tele since Christmas...been digging into my Poirot "complete DVD box set" though...feeding the little grey cells. You're a lucky man, Alph. I haven't watched any tele since Boxing Day -- burst pipe got my sat receiver/recorder, DVD player, and the TV's a bit doubtful. Have watched a few programmes on iPlayer and 4OD, but there's no room for an armchair where the computer with the big screen is. PS: I don't think David Suchet is all that good as Poirot. Is that the series you've got? For me Ustinov takes the prize. Finney was pretty good too.

Point 1: Bad news about all your AV stuff getting wrecked - Computers are rubbish for relaxing and watching stuff on IMO, they just aren't the same as a proper TV. Point 2: You philistine!!! David Suchet is to Poirot what Jeremy Brett was to Holmes IMO. Absolutely definitive for me (which hopefully answers your question about which set I have). (I like the radio Poirot guy as well, the Sherlock Holmes radio actor is also cool). AH

More Great Telly possibly coming to a box near you...... Film crews abandon old cars on smart cul-de-sac
They encouraged dogs to foul on the street for a TV programme. Now documentary makers have abandoned two battered old cars on a smart Preston cul-de-sac.
It’s all part of new BBC series, The Street That Cut Everything, which looks at how residents would cope without council-run services.
The film crews dumped the vehicles, set on piles of bricks and covered in sheets, to see how residents of Beacon Avenue, Fulwood, would remove them without calling the city council for help.
However, neighbours said when residents asked a pick-up firm to attend, the driver left without removing the cars when he saw the TV cameras.
The Lancashire Evening Post reported last week how the film makers had brought in around 20 dogs to foul on the pavements, to see how householders would manage without street cleaning.
A taxpayers’ group today questioned whether the documentary was a good use of TV licence fee payers’ money.
Emma Boon, campaign director of the Taxpayers’ Alliance, said: “This programme risks spreading an unrealistic message about the effects of these very necessary spending cuts.
“Plenty of local authorities have shown that they can cut spending dramatically, without cutting services like street cleaning or putting up council tax.”
Preston MP Mark Hendrick said he did not think the programme showed a realistic view of what would happen if council spending was cut.
The Labour MP said: “It is taking people back to an age when services we have come to expect are not there."
“What we are seeing is 19th century liberalism trying to cater for the needs of a 21st century society. People don’t want to go back in time to a Victorian era.”
Cadley ward Coun John Bruton said he and Coun John Potter had sought assurances from council officers the programme will not show the area in a bad light.
Coun Bruton said: “We had a discussion beforehand and we needed to be reasonably sure that the benefits (of the programme) would outweigh the disadvantages.
“I’m in favour of letting them run with it but we are keeping an eye on things.”

What is all this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this is if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
— William Henry Davies (very slightly adapted) It's THIS, processed. Order from chaos.

I'll have a chicken vindaloo toastie with extra chilli, on Allinson's wholemeal, and a bottle of Jupiler, well chilled. (Keep doing the chest thing.)

Old Fluffy Stubbies are simply the "Founder Members of the Board." As far as I know anyway. I looked at this list, which is generated by View Staff Members from the Members list, and the rest is history. What got me started on this was being labelled Fluffy Too! almost since I was press-ganged into joining by the usual suspects (Trubs and Ev, in this case). Style Note: Apart from in reported speech, never use an exclamation mark unless you have been recently disembowelled.

Why was I the only poster to occupy the (seriously misspelled) rank I recently vacated?
And why does no-one share my present (possibly misspelled) rank with me?
I am beginning to worry...
